Greyhound Watch was set up in 2007 in response to the misleading information circulated by members of the racing fraternity.
Founder Clive Ellis who has adopted greyhounds since the late Eighties said the role of the organisation is both to support greyhound protection groups and inform the public about the reality of racing.
“In particular, we investigate for publication issues the NGRC (National Greyhound Racing Club) and BGRB (British Greyhound Racing Board) would prefer not being in the public domain.
The industry has in more recent years faced growing outrage at the exploitation, abuse and slaughter of greyhounds and its response is to mislead the public thus preventing them from making an informed and qualified decision about this so called sport.
Greyhound Watch, however, believe the public have a right to all facts.”
