Following lengthy research – BBC radio Ulster publish an article – Thousands of racing greyhounds vanish every year – pre-empting their eagerly awaited radio documentary. The investigation revealed huge gaps in how the industry is regulated in Northern Ireland. Although part of the UK – Northern Ireland’s race tracks are governed by the Irish Greyhound Board – a semi state body who oversee the industry in the Republic.
