After visiting Greytexploitations website – two young ladies in the North East have been moved to raise much needed funds to help the greyhounds.

Unaware of ‘what goes on’ Rachel and her friend Becky have offered to donate all the money they raise bravely dipping into the North Sea on Boxing Day to a local greyhound rescue.

Greyhound Rescue And Coordinated Emergencies or GRACE for short – are a small group that identify the most vulnerable dogs – under threat of euthanasia – and work hard to ensure their safety by finding secure re-homing kennel spaces throughout the country.

Tracy Cook – coordinator of GRACE said “In an area of the country where greyhounds are largely still seen as a commodity – it’s fantastic that Rachel and Becky have offered to help raise awareness for these gentle dogs.

Last week we had a vet bill of nearly £400 for a greyhound and this has used up all our funding. We still have two dogs in temporary foster homes that need to go to reputable rescues and two more dogs waiting to be handed over by independent trainers”

If you would like to sponsor Rachel and Becky and help GRACE – please donate through the PayPal facility on Greytexploitations’ website or you send a cheque to Wilton House Vets, Wilton Lane, Guisborough,  Cleveland, TS14 6JA

Please make the cheque payable to ‘Wilton House Vets’

In either case – please add a note to your donation stating the money is for ‘GRACE’s FUND’

A follow up report and photos of the brave duo will be published next week.
