Despite worldwide protests against the plans to export Irish greyhounds to China and assist the Chinese in the development of greyhound racing – the IGB’s proposals have moved on unabated and the Department of Agriculture are presently considering the business plan.

A letter enlisting the support of your MEP’s and MP’s has been compiled detailing a number of reasons why these proposals should be abandoned – aside of the very serious welfare issues.

The response from two of the North East’s politicians – has been very encouraging – resulting in the following Lib-Dem press release.
