Following a police raid where 1600 cannabis plants were seized at a GBGB licensed racing kennel near Guildford – around 80 greyhounds were abandoned to live in filth and squalor.

Although trainers and owners have since removed the young healthy dogs still capable of racing – they leave behind and abandon for the second time -16 older and injured dogs. It’s left to a local rescue centre – Celia Cross Greyhound Trust – to step in and take into care the remaining dogs – many needing extensive veterinary care.

The rescue centre are now desperately in need of extra funds – donations and volunteers to cope with the dogs on going care and rehabilitation until loving homes can be found.
