Over 20 greyhound advocates travelled from across the country to inform the Walthamstow residents on the cruelty of dog racing and invited them to sign and send this Postcard to the London Mayor.

The feedback from local people and passers-by proved very positive – with many already aware of the cruelty but were surprised to learn that the dog industry is financed and sustained through gambling. More than 200 postcards were signed on the day with a 1,000 more being hand delivered to the surrounding homes.

Annette left us with an excellent quote which summed up the real need for this rally and why we need to hold many more. “Greyhound racing is a self-regulating gambling business that depends on the uncontrolled breeding and unaccountable disappearance of thousands of dogs every year. That is a situation that is still unacceptable and indefensible at Walthamstow track or any other”

Huge thanks to all those who helped make this event a fabulous success!!
